Privacy Policy

Our approach

Marisei is designed to make searching safer without collecting personal information. We screen web results through a trust assessment before they reach you, and we handle as little data as possible while doing so.

Search queries

Your searches are not tied to your identity. We do not store your queries in readable form, keep a search history, or log IP addresses or other identifiers that could connect a search back to you.

To show results, your query is passed to our search provider and each result link is checked against our trust scoring service. This is done on a per-search basis and no personal data is included.

AI answers

If you ask a follow-up question, your question and the text of verified search results are sent to an AI provider to generate an answer. This is not linked to your identity and is subject to a daily usage limit to control costs and usage.

Trust submissions

When you submit a website for trust review, we store the website address, your suggested decision and any reason you provide. You may also provide an email address so we can follow up; this is optional and is only used to respond to your submission.

Administration and monitoring

The monitoring dashboard is only available to authorised administrators. It shows aggregated statistics such as the number of searches run and the number of sites that passed or failed screening. It does not show search terms, queries, IP addresses, or any information that could identify a visitor.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential cookies and storage needed for administrator sign-in. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

Retention

Aggregated operational metrics are retained for a limited period so we can monitor performance and capacity. Individual search queries are not retained.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
