Question 1

What does Marisei do?

Accepted Answer

Marisei searches the open web, then puts a trust check between the results and your screen. Every destination is assessed by Sapher before it is displayed. Sites that pass can appear; sites that fail or cannot be assessed are removed.

Question 2

What happens after I press Search?

Accepted Answer

First, Marisei retrieves relevant pages from across the open web. Second, each destination website is assessed using Sapher. Third, the sites that pass are shown in their original order, while anything that fails or cannot be assessed is withheld.

Question 3

Do I need an account to use Marisei?

Accepted Answer

No. Web search, Lola, maps, images and videos are available without signing in. The account area is reserved for authorised administration and monitoring.

Question 4

Why might I see fewer results than on another search engine?

Accepted Answer

Marisei removes websites that fail a trust assessment and those it cannot verify. That deliberately produces a shorter list than an unfiltered search. A missing site is not necessarily unsafe; it may simply have been unavailable or impossible to assess at that moment.

Question 5

Why can a first search take longer?

Accepted Answer

A site that Marisei has not seen before must be assessed before it can be displayed. Slow assessments can continue in the background, and a successful result can be remembered for later searches. This makes repeat searches and familiar destinations faster without allowing an unverified site through.

Question 6

Why are the homepage statistics so low?

Accepted Answer

The figures on the homepage are live counts from Marisei's own trust validation activity: how many website checks have run, how many came back trusted, how many are still being checked, how many came back blocked, and the share of checks that detected a risk.

They look low because they are real. Marisei is a young service, and every figure is an actual assessment of an actual website — nothing is estimated, padded or carried over from another data set. Each new site must be checked before it can appear in results, so the counts grow only as fast as real people search.

The strip refreshes every five minutes, so you are seeing the current state of the system, not a lifetime total.

Question 7

What does the Sapher trust assessment look at?

Accepted Answer

Sapher considers signals visible on the live site, including a valid HTTPS connection, whether the website stays on the address you expected, published contact and business information, and warning patterns such as look-alike names, suspicious wording or unexpected redirects. These signals contribute to Sapher's overall assessment.

Question 8

Can I continue a previous conversation from my history?

Accepted Answer

No. Previous conversations are stored only on your own device, in this browser, and you can reopen them at any time — but they remain as history only. Once a conversation has been saved and reopened from your browser, you can read it, copy from it and delete it, but you cannot continue it by asking Lola more questions.

This is intended as a security measure. A saved conversation lives in your browser's storage, where it could be altered by another program, browser extension or person using the device. Not letting Lola build on that stored text means altered history can never be used to steer her answers.

To pick up a topic again, start a new conversation and ask your question there.

Question 9

What does fail-closed mean?

Accepted Answer

Fail-closed means that when a safety check cannot finish, the unverified content is withheld. Marisei favours safety over availability: an outage or timeout may reduce the number of results, but it does not silently switch off the protection.

Question 10

Can a recently checked site appear if a new check times out?

Accepted Answer

A recent successful assessment may stand in briefly while Marisei retries a fresh check. A website that has never passed is not shown on the strength of a timeout, missing response or failed assessment.

Question 11

How does Marisei reduce phishing risk in search results?

Accepted Answer

Trust filtering checks live websites for signs associated with impersonation, including look-alike spellings, misleading redirects, mismatched certificates, disposable domain patterns, phishing words and missing identity details. A destination that fails is removed before it can appear as a result, image, map listing or Lola citation.

Question 12

Does a passing assessment guarantee that a website or business is safe?

Accepted Answer

No. It means the destination passed Sapher's assessment at the time it was checked. It is not an endorsement, certification or guarantee of a business's products, services or conduct. Websites can change, and links or redirects followed after leaving Marisei may lead somewhere that has not been assessed.

Question 13

What is Lola?

Accepted Answer

Lola is Marisei's conversational research experience. It searches for relevant material, reads available pages that pass Sapher's checks, and writes an answer from that evidence. When your request is unclear, Lola may ask a question before searching so the answer matches what you meant.

Question 14

Can Lola use a website that failed the trust check?

Accepted Answer

No. A page must pass Sapher before its contents can support an answer or appear as a citation. If a useful-looking source fails or cannot be verified, Lola leaves it out rather than relying on its search preview.

Question 15

Why does Lola sometimes say that it could not confirm something?

Accepted Answer

A relevant page may be blocked, unavailable, off-topic or rejected by the trust assessment. Lola distinguishes between finding a search listing and successfully reading its page. When the available evidence is not enough, it names the limitation instead of presenting an unsupported claim as verified.

Question 16

What does the Evidence Confidence Score mean?

Accepted Answer

It shows how strongly the available, checked evidence supports Lola's answer. Source relevance and breadth contribute to the score. It is an explanation of the evidence behind that answer, not a guarantee that an AI-written response is error-free.

Question 17

Are images, videos, maps and shopping results filtered too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Image and video sources, websites behind nearby business listings, and retailers behind displayed prices pass through the same trust gate. A blocked website cannot reappear through another part of the results page.

Question 18

How does the map use my location?

Accepted Answer

If you allow location access, Marisei can use your position to centre a local search and work out distance. Nearby businesses are limited to the map area you are viewing, and their websites must pass Sapher before their listings are shown.

Question 19

Where do displayed shop prices come from?

Accepted Answer

Marisei looks for a price and availability on the retailer's own product page after the shop has passed its checks. Prices can change, so the amount shown is a guide and should be confirmed on the retailer's page before buying.

Question 20

Where do flight times and flight statuses come from?

Accepted Answer

For live airline schedules, flight numbers, departures and arrivals, Marisei reads current tracking information from Flightradar24. If the feed has no suitable data, Marisei says so rather than inventing a time or status. Always confirm important travel details with the airline or airport.

Question 21

What happens to my search query?

Accepted Answer

Your words are sent to Marisei's search provider to retrieve results, and each result address is sent for trust assessment. Marisei does not tie a query to your identity, keep a readable server-side search history or build an advertising profile from your searches.

Question 22

Where are my Lola conversations kept?

Accepted Answer

Your conversation history is kept in this browser so you can reopen it. Conversation attachments are also stored only in this browser and are removed when that conversation is deleted. Questions must still be sent to Marisei's AI provider to produce a reply, but the conversation is not linked to your identity.

Question 23

Is Marisei free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Marisei's public search and conversational features are available without a subscription. Businesses also cannot pay to pass verification or buy a higher position in results.

Question 24

What does Verified on Marisei mean?

Accepted Answer

It means the website passed the Sapher assessment used for Marisei results. It does not mean Marisei endorses or guarantees the business, its products or its conduct. Verification is automatic and cannot be purchased.

Question 25

What can I do if my website is missing or wrongly hidden?

Accepted Answer

Use the trust decision form at the bottom of this page. Include the website address, your suggested decision and an optional explanation. An email address is optional and is used only if Marisei needs to respond to your submission.

Question 26

Can a business pay to appear or be verified?

Accepted Answer

No. Websites are assessed automatically under the same rules, and there are no paid placements. Passing verification does not buy a different ranking or special treatment in the results.
