Take Marisei trust checks with you

The free Marisei add-on puts a trust badge beside every result on Google and Bing, so you can see whether a website can be trusted before you click it. A button in your toolbar checks whichever site you are on. It works in Chrome, Edge and Brave.

Free, no account needed.

What the badges mean

Trusted

The site passed Marisei's Sapher trust assessment.

Not trusted

Marisei would hide this site from its own results.

Unverified

The assessment could not be completed, so treat the site as unverified.

How to install it

Download and unzip

Use the button above to download the add-on, then unzip the file so you have a folder on your computer.

Open your browser's extensions page

In Chrome or Brave, go to chrome://extensions. In Edge, go to edge://extensions.

Turn on developer mode

Switch on “Developer mode” — in Chrome and Brave it is the toggle in the top right corner.

Load the folder

Click “Load unpacked” and choose the folder you unzipped. The Marisei button appears in your toolbar.

What it does with your browsing

Nothing is checked until you open a page of search results or press the toolbar button. Only the website address — for example example.com — is sent to Marisei, never the page you are reading, the words you searched for, or anything you type. Answers are kept on your own computer for an hour so the same site is not checked again and again. The FAQ explains how the trust assessment itself works.
